After working together on many projects over 15 years, ACTS Consulting, Inc., of San Ramon, California, and Lighthouse Computer Group, LLC, of Martinez, California, decided it was time to formally combine their skills and knowledge in order to provide even better support to their clients.

The result of this collaboration is SharkEye Technology Services, bringing years of experience to small and mid-size businesses with insightful guidance in the acquisition and use of technology.

BIOGRAPHIES

Michael J. Vagenas, Principal

Mr. Vagenas is the owner of ACTS Consulting, Inc., a technology consulting company that has been working with Bay Area businesses, both small and large, for over 15 years.  Prior to that he worked for Wells Fargo Bank and Golden Grain Co. in IT Operations, Programming, Network Administration, and Management.

Mr. Vagenas’ extensive experience includes:

  • Programming on mainframe systems in 1972 while pursuing an AA in Computer Science.
  • Supervising Wells Fargo Bank’s fledgling Credit Card computer operations in the late 70’s.
  • Managing Wells Fargo’s Credit Card IT department, mailroom and supply department with a multi-million dollar budget for a department of supervisors and staff.
  • Installing the first PC based network in Wells Fargo’s Credit Card Division in the mid-80’s.
  • Managing networks in 5 locations around the country for Golden Grain, for which he wrote an article in the 1995 LAN Times magazine for innovative solutions to multiple location networks.
  • Consulting with Wells Fargo for the First Interstate Bank acquisition, the Branch Loan Doc printing system and Y2K network remediation.
  • Working as an IT Consultant for numerous customers with ACTS Consulting, Inc.

Mr. Vagenas brings a perspective unique among IT professionals- to see all of a customer’s needs, understand their budgets, and develop long term partnerships with them.


Pedro "Pete" Babiak, Principal
Mr. Babiak is the owner of Lighthouse Computer Group, LLC and 4FlexSites.com. He has extensive experience in the technology consulting industry, having worked with Fortune 500 companies (Dial Corp, Quaker Oats) down to sole proprietor operations.

He has worked extensively on small business technology solutions especially for lawyers, accountants, and medical offices using Microsoft and Dell solutions.

Mr. Babiak is a two-time past president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Contra Costa County, as well as the current president of the Contra Costa Taxpayers Association. He also formerly served on the following boards:

  • Lindsay Wildlife Museum
  • Contra Costa County Workforce Development Board
  • Junior Achievement of the Bay Area - Regional Board
  • Contra Costa Council - Board Member
  • Contra Costa Council - Small Business Task Force Co-Chair

Lighthouse Computer Group has been named Small Business of the Year for the Hispanic Chamber and recipient of Telemundo's Hispanic Business Salute award. Mr. Babiak was also named by the East Bay Business Times as one of their "40 Under 40" professionals.
